Teuvo Teräväinen pelasi viime yönä uransa ensimmäisen NHL-ottelunsa. Kotiyleisö toivotti Teräväisen heti ottelun alussa tervetulleeksi. Chicago Blackhawks voitti ottelussa Dallas Starsin 4-2. Suomalainen jäi ilman tehomerkintöjä pelaamassaan vajaassa 12 minuutissa. Dallasin maalilla Kari Lehtonen torjui Dallasin maalilla 38 kertaa.
Teräväinen esintyi kuitenkin edukseen ja sai myös ylivoima-aikaa. Mies voitti myös kaikki seitsemän aloitustaan. Aivan tyytyväinen ei mies ollut kuitenkaan vielä esiintymiseensä.

Joukkuekavereista Duncan Keith sekä Kris Versteeg kerkesivät jo vertaamaan Teräväisen pelikäsitystä joukkuetoveri Patrick Kaneen. Pitkä matka on kuitenkin vielä miehellä supertähteyteen.
